Victor Stanley debuts smart waste receptacles and cloud-based logistics software at Smart Cities Week in Washington, D.C Victor Stanley Sept 30 2016
DUNKIRK, MD — September 27, 2016 — Victor Stanley, Inc. debuted their new Street Level Sensing™ technology and Relay web service solutions, introducing the next generation of smart waste receptacles and management. The company demonstrated their Internet of Things (IoT) waste management products from their booth at Smart Cities Week at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Street Level Sensing™ technology and the Relay web service combine to become an intelligent waste management system. Using GPS in conjunction with various sensors, Victor Stanley’s new receptacles continuously monitor and transmit fill levels, while also conveying temperature, weight, location and more to a cloud-based web portal. Street Level Sensing™ is available in the company’s new receptacles and also as a retrofit for thousands of their side-door receptacles currently in use worldwide. The municipalities (cities, parks, universities, airports, shopping centers, etc.) and individuals charged with waste control will be able to employ a network of connected receptacles and software that enables collection planning and routing that is substantially more efficient. Traditional static systems frequently allow for some receptacles to overfill before they are collected while others sit empty, yet are collected anyway. Resources can now be allocated when and where they are needed, saving time while decreasing fuel costs, carbon footprints and unsightly waste overflow. Ultimately, the combined system is expected to save an estimated 20-40% on collection expenses.   Victor Stanley, Inc., founded in 1962, is a leading international designer and manufacturer of premium outdoor furniture, and waste and recycling receptacles for public spaces.
