August 28, 2015, La Palma, CA - No one likes to wait—especially for a doctor—but with the introduction of the stylish, new Soleil collection by Arcadia, health-centric environments shine with a heightened sense of wellbeing and a warm, inviting aesthetic that help patients and their families pass the time in comfort. This comprehensive, award-winning family of products designed by David Dahl, consists of a lounge chair, occasional tables, guest, bariatric, patient and hip chairs, as well as two-, three-, and four-seat tandem models with built-toorder configurations that offer design continuity throughout a variety of spaces within healthcare applications and beyond.
Soleil is characterized by a slender profile, passive-flex back for long term seated comfort and a distinctive arm cap design that differentiates it from other healthcare products on the market. Its unique arm caps feature radiused edges on every side for smooth surface contact, and are available in Beech, Walnut, and White Oak wood, black urethane, and Corian finish options. A standalone lounge chair offers a wider and lower seating style with all the same features as its guest chair counterpart.
Beyond its ability to brighten any interior with its luminous appearance, Soleil is also distinguished by its exceptional durability, thanks in part to its metal frame, which is available in standard powdercoat finishes as well as premium finish colors. Bariatric models are designed to withstand significantly increased weight capacity, and are offered in 34- and 40-inch widths as individual pieces or in tandem combinations with standard guest models.
Adding to Soleil's impressive functionality is its support for ease of maintenance and extended product life, both of which are essential in demanding healthcare environments. All models feature clean-outs on every side, including between the back and seat cushion, making cleaning a breeze, while its wall-saver leg design helps protect walls and chair upholstery from wear. Further, Soleil's arm caps, back covers, and componentry are all replaceable, prolonging the product's useful life—leaving a bright spot on its environmental footprint in the process.
Complementing the collection's brilliant seating options is a refined series of connecting and occasional tables, available in a variety of geometric forms that add a touch of visual interest and purpose to any space. Corner, inline, and end connecting tables for built-to-order tandem units are offered in rounded triangle and oval shapes in a variety of veneer, laminate, or Corian surface finishes. Occasional tables can be specified in round, elliptical, and triangular shapes, all of which feature an asymmetrical, tiered design that can be finished in solid or two-tone combinations for an array of design options to match virtually any décor.
Earlier this year, Soleil was honored with the "HiP" award at the NeoCon World's Trade Fair 2015 in the category of Health & Wellness: Furniture. It's no wonder that the collection has been so well-received, given Arcadia's fruitful 25-plus year relationship with designer David Dahl, who is responsible for some of the company's bestselling products of all time, including the Huddle, Serafina, and Haven collections.
"With our growing healthcare business, it was essential to continue our offerings in that category," said Helen Kim, Director of Marketing for Arcadia. "Soleil was a perfect addition because of its slimmer profile, and the lighter scale metal frame design that is both elegantly crafted and remarkably durable. We're proud to have been recognized with an industry award for another successful partnership with David Dahl and have high expectations for its success," she added.
Although Soleil was designed with the healthcare market in mind, it is equally at home in other markets in which incomparable seating comfort and a touch of panache are required.
